Debbie’s First Problem With My Answer
Let’s review: On 6/9, I wrote about my friend Debbie who asked why she lived with fear and without peace even as a Christian–which isn’t how the Bible describes how it goes.
On 6/10, I outlined one massive difference separating Christianity from other religions–the fact that when we accept Jesus as boss, God’s spirit does the Vulcan spirit-meld with our own.
Then on 6/11, I explained that God, the designer of free will, honors free will. He doesn’t crush us into submission, but makes himself available to us. Learning how this works is not intuitive, but an exercise in growing up.
Debbie rejected my answer flat out. She said when people mixed it up with God’s spirit, they got weird. They went around announcing the latest thing God had told them when, Debbie said, you knew darn well it had nothing to do with God, but with something they wanted.
Debbie has a point. More tomorrow.
