I wonder if God is amused or annoyed about Christians trying to out-humble each other.

Since it adds up to devaluing the gift his Son died to give us, I’d guess he gets a little ticked.

God wants us to be confident.

Insecure people don’t accomplish much because half their energy goes into wondering what other people will think, what other people have that they don’t, if somebody else is getting more or better, etc. God’s really big on being single minded.

Insecure people put self-protective limits on love while God loves with abandon.

Insecure people have no peace. The inner turmoil of worrying about what other people think eats at them, all day, all night.

Inner peace allows us to move toward our goals unhindered.

If God thought you were worth dying for, you must really be something.
